The buddha-dharma that is the universe is full of numerous qualities and wonders without end. There are "worlds in the four directions," even in this present moment, and in a single drop of water. Your enlightenment is the enlightenment of the universe. Your awareness is the awareness of the universe. The Zen path of practice and enlightenment is the universe aware of itself, exploring itself, and experiencing itself.

Step back into clear and pure awareness

Whenever you notice that you are caught up in discrimination, step back into your own fundamental awareness. Do not waste your time comparing differing ideas and notions about this teaching and that teaching. Cease all this futile conceptualization and step back into the clear and pure awareness of your own mind.

Immediate Awareness

It is never apart from your immediate awareness. Realization is nothing other then awakening to the fact that you and the unnamable void are not two. When you realize that, you awaken from the dream and remember what you have forgotten. There is not a single objective particle in the entire universe; all that you perceive is nothing other than your own mind... Both self and objects are nothing but conceptual ideas based on dualistic thinking. Both ordinary people and enlightened sages are the same vast, unnamable, fathomless void.
